What is the best way to use Laska by nature soaps?

Lather up the soap and apply to the wet skin of your body. Take your time. Be there, in the moment - it's all yours. Breathe in the aroma. Rinse thoroughly. You'll notice that your skin is genuinely clean. It breathes. The soap doesn't leave the plastic film that stays on the skin after washing with shower-gels, nor the heap of synthetic foam around the drain.

We do not recommend it for use on the hair and face. Avoid contact with the eyes. Extend the life of your soap by draining it on a soap-dish away from running water.

How is Laska's natural soap different from conventional soap?

Our natural soap radically differs from conventional soap and other so-called "natural" soaps because of the ingredients we use and the method of making. The ingredients are premium plant oils (no palm oil) and essential oils with a strong dash of yoghurt and sheep milk to enrich the formulations. The cold method preserves all the inherent qualities of the ingredients and the natural glycerin in the oils. It takes over a month for the soap to dry and be ready for use. Laska soap is real soap – soft on the skin and mesmerising to the senses; handcrafted mindfully and sustainably. It's as real & natural as it gets.

Can I wash my face with Laska soap?

Yes, Ladies, you certainly can but we don't recommend washing your face with any soap, be it ours or any other natural soap or conventional detergent facial washes.

Why? Soap tends to have a drying effect on the skin of the face which is thinner and more delicate than that of the rest of the body. Even the most delicate soap or wash can leave facial skin feeling taut and tight.

Light and simple is enough. Remove make-up with your usual make-up remover and rinse your face with tepid water. Finish with a nice dabbing of rose or lavender water. Any herbal water will do actually. Done.

Can I wash my hair with Laska soap?

The current range is not formulated for use on the hair. Nevertheless, nothing stops you from trying it out as many of our clients have done with satisfactory results and full conversion. Depending on the hardness of the water in your area, you might have to rinse your hair with a couple of tablespoons of vinegar diluted in a litre of water for shine (if the water is hard).

Why don't you use palm oil?

Palm oil is an essential ingredient for soap-making. It is cheap and readily available. But palm oil farming has been traced to the destruction of forests that sustain endangered species or cause environmental pollution. For those ethical and environmental reasons, we deliberately chose to exclude it from our soaps.

Where do your sheep milk & yoghurt come from?

We source our sheep milk directly from a local shepherd (Simo) who takes to pasture the sheep of the villagers every day. Our yoghurt comes from a small local dairy farm.
